Trowbridge Twp., Allegan, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mr. Blakeman was born Dec. 21, 1929 in Allegan, the son of Myron C. and Deloris M. (Weikel) Blakeman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict in Medic Co 196th Regiment in Camp Canson, CO and in Alaska. He had been employed at the Menasha Corp. of Otsego for 43 years, retiring in 1992. Surviving are 2 children and their spouses, Kevin and Trina Blakeman of Allegan and Cindy and Rob Forrest of Gobles; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 1 special friend, Brenda Bowers, of Allegan. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Pastor John Slater officiating. Interment Trowbridge Methodist Cemetery, Trowbridge Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to the family or to the American Cancer Society.
