59, of Allegan, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at his home. James was born in Allegan, June 6, 1953, the son of James and Phyllis (Simmons) Battjes. James enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a dairy farmer for the majority of his life, which in fact is how he met his wife. James is survived by his wife Tonya, whom he married in 1985; his daughter Amber Battjes; his son Abraham Battjes; and his granddaughter Elena Battjes. James is preceded in death by his parents James and Phyllis. In respect to the family's wishes, there will be no services held.
