of Allegan. Passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012. Age 86 years. Jack was born February 6, 1926, the son of the late Harley and Edna (Peters) Rhodes. He served with the United States Navy during World War II. He attended Western Michigan University. He worked for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Fishery Division for five years and then later worked for Blood Brothers. He enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing. He was married to Olga (Dubas) Rhodes; she preceded him in death on October 23, 2001. Together they owned and operated Rhodes Landing and Campground and farmed in the Cheshire are for over 50 years. Surviving are his five children, James (Linda) Rhodes of Bloomingdale, Carl (Bonnie) Rhodes of Allegan, Susan Payne of Allegan, Brian (Tracey) Rhodes of Pullman and Teresa Rhodes of Allegan; six grandchildren, Ella Foster, Scott (Jennifer) Rhodes, Angela Rhodes, Amber Rhodes, Brandon Rhodes and Casey Rhodes; six great-grandchildren, Jordan and Remi Densmore, Braeden, Julia and Breanna Rhodes and Logan Ojczenasz; one brother, Robert Rhodes; two sisters, Debbie and Cindy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandchild, Shelby Vorce. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Greg Carlson will officiate with interment in Rowe Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Briarwood Assisted Living of Allegan or the Wings Home of Allegan.
