Cheshire Twp., Allegan, MI, died Sunday, June 10, 2007 at his home. Mr. Polmanteer was born February 8, 1940, in Court Twp., MI, the son of Roy Cecil and Minnie Louise (Martz) Polmanteer. He was the youngest of 12 children. He was a member of the Chicora Country Chapel and the Police Reserves. He had been employed as the Assistant Director of the City of Allegan Public Works Dept. for 30 years, retiring in 2001. Surviving are his wife, Mary (Mulligan), whom he married December 5, 1959; 4 children, Annette and Ronald Davies of Detroit, Patty Crisman of Pullman, Brenda and Patrick Riley and Michael Polmanteer, all of Allegan; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Roy Polmanteer of Texas, Arnold and Bell Polmanteer of South Haven and Lloyd and Shirley Polmanteer of Martin; 5 sisters, Thelma Bessemer of Fremont, Dorothy Schbout and Irene and Bert Vandermer, all of Grand Rapids, Donna Kraft of Wyoming and Catherine Trainer of Galesburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard, and 2 sisters, Marge Bosse and Lillian Spence. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Pastor Herb Curry officiating.
