Cheshire Twp., Allegan, MI, died Monday, May 30, 2005 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mrs. Thomas was born April 30, 1911 in Atica, IN, the daughter of Terence and Edna (Hurst) Yater. Surviving are 5 children and their spouses, Glenn and Edna Howard of Stoughten, WI, Judith and Donald Herman of Mobile, AL, Lynn and Donna Howard of Stoughten, WI, Barbara and Leonard Flagel of Brimley, MI, and Betty and Brad Warner of Allegan; 2 stepchildren, Irene and Max Wheeler of Grand Rapids, and Bill Thomas of Allegan; 14 grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 16 step great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 6 step great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Albert Howard in 1967 and Carl Thomas in 1996; 2 grandsons, Jeffrey Priebe and Donald Herman; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Friends may meet with the family from 10 a.m. Friday until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, www.gordenfuneral.com, Pastor Joseph Spackman officiating. Interment Crystal Springs Cemetery, Benton Harbor at 1 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ACRDC or Wings of Hope Hospice.
