HEWITT, Ila Trowbridge Twp., Allegan, MI, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001 at Metron of Allegan. Mrs. Hewitt was born Aug. 7, 1909 in Otsego, the daughter of Earl and Clara (Wood) Stewart. She retired, after more than 15 years of service, from Allegan General Hospital as supervisor of housekeeping. Surviving are 2 daughters and their husbands, Shirley and Grant Goodsell and Sharon and Merlin Knobloch, all of Allegan; 5 grandchildren, Linda, Nanette, Mike, Greg and Scott; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 1 brother, Bud Stewart of Allegan; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Acel, in 1997, granddaughter, Deborah Griffin, 1 brother, Theron Stewart and 2 sisters, Mildred Stegeman and Julia Fisher. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Monday at 4 p.m. Pastor Alvin Lambert officiating. Interment Trowbridge Methodist Cemetery, Trowbridge Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
