of Allegan, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly early Thursday morning, October 30, 2014, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan with her children by her side. Born September 21, 1931, she is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Richard "Dick" McMillen Huff, her children, Lynette Huff and Brian Gorby Huff, his wife Nanette, grandchildren Megan Von Schonhoff, her husband Bernard IV, and AFC Alexander Huff, great-grandson Bernard Von Schonhoff V, and her five loving siblings, Glenn, Shirley, Molly, Ted, Rick and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn E. and Ruth A. (LaVoy) Gorby also of Allegan and daughter, Laurie Jan Huff of Holland, Michigan. A lifelong resident of Allegan, Bev & Dick married on March 4, 1951. She worked in the office at Perrigo early in her marriage while Richard served in the armed forces in Korea. Later, she managed the bookkeeping for the family business, R.B.Huff 5c to $1.00 Store, for many years while raising her family. She had also been active in the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She had served as a Brownie leader when her girls were young and was very active in the First Congregational and then the Christ Community Church in Allegan throughout her life. Known throughout the community as an excellent cook, she loved to please friends and family with newly discovered recipes and many old standbys. Friends may visit with the family from 12-2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Christ Community Church, 3370 113th Avenue, Allegan, Michigan 49010, until the time of the Memorial Service at 2:00 P.M. Pastor G. Patrick White will be officiating. Inurnment will be at Hudson Corners Cemetery, Allegan Township, Michigan at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Beverly would have liked Memorial Contributions to be made to Christ Community Church, 3370 113th Avenue, Allegan, Michigan 49010, or to a charity of one's choosing. Arrangements are being made by Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
