Howard Lodenstein April 23, 1937 - June 28, 2021 At the age of 84, Howard Lodenstein was called to his heavenly home on Monday, June 28, 2021. Born on April 23, 1937, Howard was a lifetime resident of Allegan County. After graduating from Hopkins High School, he served in the Army. Howard operated a dairy farm for many years before working at the Independent Milk Co-Op, and he had several truck driving jobs before retirement. One of his favorite pastimes would be to spend time with his draft horses and mules; he was a member of the Allegan County Draft Horse & Mule Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and looked forward to Taco Tuesday and coffee or time spent with life-long friends. Howard is survived by his wife of 15 years, Joann; his children, Shelly and Bruce Brenner, Kim and John Langlois, Rod and Lisa Lodenstein, and Missy and Garry Goodman; his sisters, Ardis Doezema and Pearl Bronkhorst; and brothers, Leon, David and Clare Lodenstein; along with 29 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Howard was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Patricia Ann; his parents, Herm and Lilly Lodenstein; and siblings, Calvin, Carl, Marian and Paul. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Wings of Hope Hospice (530 Linn St., Allegan, MI 49010) or Hopkins Community Church (2142 128th Ave, Hopkins, MI 49328), where Howard was a member. The family will receive guests on Wednesday evening, June 30, 2021 at Hopkins Community Church (2142 128th Ave.) from 4-7 pm; and the Celebration of Howard's Life will be held at 11 am on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at the church as well.
