Allegan Twp., MI, died Sunday, February 22, 2004 at Zeeland Community Hospital. Mr. Coffey was born April 28, 1926 in Diamond Springs, MI, the son of Alvin and Eva (Barber) Coffey. He was a member of Diamond Springs Wesleyan Church, had served in the U.S. Army, and was a retired farmer and auctioneer. Surviving are his wife, Mary (Phillips) Coffey, whom he married on December 24, 1954; 5 children, Debrah Pawlicki of Kalamazoo, Karen (Dan) Coffindaffer, and Tammy Blasengame, all of Allegan, Earl (Michelle) Coffey of Gobles and Craig (Pamela) Coffey of Owosso; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 3 brothers and 4 sisters, Russell (Neva) Coffey of Allegan, Alvin (Joyce) Coffey of Hamilton, Keith (Beverly) Coffey of Marshall, Edith (Vernon) Loew of Kent City, Beulah (Al) DeVries of Jamestown, Doris Hundermun of Byron Center and Hilda (Arnold) Kragt of Hamilton. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister, Carl, Clarence, Donald and Evert, and Hazel Pepper, also 2 grandchildren. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Diamond Springs Wesleyan Church. Reverends Thomas McCall and William Osborne officiating. Interment Millgrove Cemetery, Valley Twp., MI.
