IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hope Elaine
(Compagner) Cochran
August 21, 1942 – May 29, 2024
Hope Elaine Cochran (Compagner) gently departed this world on May 29, 2024. Born on August 21, 1942, in Zeeland, Michigan, Hope was a beacon of light and joy throughout her 81 years. She embraced her final moments in Allegan, Michigan, passing naturally from a life well-lived. Hope's work as a laborer at Magna/Donnelly for over 30 years crafting car windows and mirrors, was guided by an ethic of persistence and excellence. Retirement did little to slow her, as she poured her energies into her passions. Her love for gardening and nurturing all things green spoke volumes of her nature, as did her collection of honeypots, which dotted her welcoming home. She was also an avid animal lover and adored her puppy Squirt, indoor kitty Patches and her outdoor cat Ashes. Those who knew Hope were touched by her intelligence, thoughtfulness, and unwavering optimism. She had a gift for lifting spirits and brightening days, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and memories of all those within her circle. A matriarch, a sister, a friend—Hope will be deeply missed, yet her legacy of kindness and strength endures.
Hope is survived by her children, Bonnie (Douglas) Kronemeyer, Michael (Rhonda) Cochran, daughter in-law, Sherrie Cochran; siblings Roger (Rita) Compagner, John (Janet) Compagner, Keith (Kathleen) Compagner, Kevin (Evonne) Compagner, brother in-law Phil (Karen) Cochran and sister-in-law, Corina Compagner; 8 grandchildren,15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, of whom she adored with every fiber of her being.
Hope was preceded in death by her husband James Cochran; parents John and Luella (Heyboer) Compagner; son Steven Cochran; brothers Leroy Compagner and Dale Compagner; and great-granddaughter Savannah Emelander.
The family will have a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
