Valley Twp., Allegan, MI, died Sunday, June 3, 2007 at her home. Mrs. Lugtigheid was born September 25, 1915 in Dunningville, the daughter of Arthur and Lillian (Hansen) Janke. She was the oldest member of the Dunningville Reformed Church. She was a graduate of Allegan High School, class of 1933 and had been employed at J.C. Penny for 21 years, retiring in 1975. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, camping and boating and loved Saint, the dog. Surviving are her husband Paul J., whom she married April 12, 1940; 1 daughter and her husband, Carolyn and Ronald Remington of Allegan; 1 grandson and his wife, Steven and Nancy Remington of Minnesota; 2 great grandchildren, Matthew and Sarah; 1 brother, Harold Janke of Pennsylvania; 1 brother-in-law, Cliff St. John of Allegan; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend, Joan Rininger. She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond, sister, Virginia St. John, and grandson, Todd. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Dunningville Reformed Church.
