Henry Lee Chapin, Jr., 80 of Allegan, Michigan passed away November 22, 2020 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Born August 12, 1940 in Webster Groves, Missouri, he was the son of the late Henry and Helen (Dennany) Chapin. A graduate of Webster Groves High School, Lee (as he was known by family and friends) went on to study at the University of Missouri and then served proudly in the United States National Guard. Having a passion for the culinary arts, Lee became a chef and enjoyed cooking for others and he especially enjoyed his last position providing food for a sorority at Western Michigan University. After the passing of his wife, Cheryl, Lee was fortunate to meet Clarann Delor and the two were able to spend the last 24 years experiencing life together. Lee loved a good book, a spirited game of cribbage and long drives along the lakeshore with Clarann. Time spent together and with family meant a great deal to Lee and he was blessed to be surrounded by his loving family, who adored him and will continue to honor his memory.
Lee is survived by his partner, Clarann Delor; his children, Kim (Ken) Wielinga, Tammy Lyons-Stull (Rick) Stull, Allen (Debby) Spencer, Tracy (Tom) Waldherr, Jana (Pat) McClelland, Kelly (Brian) Selk and Thomas (Amber) Delor; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Lee and Helen; and his wife, Cheryl Kay Spencer; he was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Jolly.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will celebrate his life later in the new year.
