Charleston, IL, formerly of Otsego and Bangor, died Sunday, May 4, 2008 in Charleston, Illinois. Helen Charlotte Meyer was born May 7, 1923 in Augusta, GA, the daughter of Oscar and Elizabeth (Wolfe) Meyer. She married Donald Stickel of Trowbridge Twp., MI on Nov. 23, 1945. She was a rural school teacher and then a full-time mother and homemaker. She dedicated her life to loving God and those around her. Surviving are 6 children, Ann Stickel of New York, Peter and Marci Stickel of Wisconsin, Donald and Barbara Stickel of Ohio, Judy and Stephen Cronk of Nebraska, Ruth and Rob Spencer of Illinois, and Joe and Lauri Stickel of Allegan; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Oscar and Eden Sorge of New York and Adam and Evelyn Armbruster of Florida; 1 sister, Paula and Armand Pelosi of Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Stickel, Sr., in 2005, a grandson and 3 brothers and 1 sister. Friends may meet with the family from 1 p.m. Tuesday until time of service at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Jerome Frandle and Jason McInally officiating.
