Obituary

of Hopkins, died Sunday, April 8, 2012, at the Life Care Center in Plainwell. Harvey was born July 17, 1920, in Hopkins Twp., the son of Jacob and Katie (Goodman) Arndt. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. A life member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. At the age of 13 Harvey was working in the area oil fields, he drove truck for over 40 years with LL Buck Produce, and other local company's. He was a volunteer fireman in Hopkins for 25 years. Surviving are his wife, Wanda, whom he married on January 30, 1944, 3 children; Karen and Edward Wygnal of Dewitt, Roger and Mary Arndt of Hopkins, and Phil and Kristi Arndt of Hopkins, 9 grandchildren and 1 step granddaughter, 11 great grandchildren, and 5 step great grandchildren, his sister, Esther Godfrey of Wayland, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his 2 sisters; Lucille Ellinger and Eleanor Kerber. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, April 11, from 5-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hopkins, Pastor Donald Seelhoff will officiate. A private burial will take place at Maplewood Cemetery, before the service. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Organ Fund or Hopkins Fire Dept.
