of Allegan died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at Ely Manor. Hi was born February 19, 1920, in Allegan, the son of Arthur and Winnie (Andrews) Harty. Hi graduated from Allegan High School in 1939, he attended both Michigan State University and the University of Detroit. He worked with several companies, during his career, including , Ford Motor, Wolverine Tube, and Universal Oil Products where he retired in 1980, after 38 years as the Director of Communications . After retirement Hi became very involved with Allegan, and served on many Boards, including, Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Economic Development Corp., Allegan County Recreation and Tourism Council, and the Development Committee for the Vo-Tec Center. He loved his community and his family. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Lois, 3 children, Kevin and Noreen Harty of Haslett, Karen and Russell Dempsey and Scott and Janice Harty all of IL, 7 grandchildren, Erin, Christopher, Patrick, Matthew, Amber, Melody, and Lauren and Richard Brecklin. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia. A memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen Celebrant.
