Obituary

Harold Kenneth “Ken” Gallagher, Jr., 90, of Allegan, MI passed away Sunday, June 28, 2026 at his home. Born May 5, 1936 in Kalamazoo, he was the son of the late Harold Kenneth Gallagher, Sr. and the late Edna Maxine (Root) Gallagher and was the husband of the late JoAnn (Bailey) Gallagher. Ken had worked for Eaton Corporation for many years prior to retirement. He attended Allegan United Methodist Church. In his younger years, Ken enjoyed spending time helping coach youth sports for North Ward School. He also volunteered his time with Habitat for Humanity where he was able to meet President Jimmy Carter. Ken always looked forward to the Allegan County Fair where he worked with the Allegan Historical Society educating visitors about the community’s past. In his down time, he enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, camping and tending to his yard. Above all else, Ken was a devoted family man and he will be deeply missed by those who loved him.

Ken is survived by his children, Jolene (Corky) Cornell, Cal (Valerie) Gallagher, Cass (Carol) Gallagher and Cam Gallagher; seven grandchildren: Jacoba Mead, Nathan Diekema, Madison Walls, Christopher Gallagher, Chelsi Gregory, Holly Dreher and Britnay Jordan; eleven great-grandchildren: Jackson, Samantha, Jensen, Colton, Haley, Evelyn, Carson, Warren, Sullivan, Kane and Zoey; and two sisters, Valerie Guarisco and Becky VanHeukelum.

The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A celebration of Ken’s life will begin at 2:00 PM.
