Allegan Twp., MI, died Sunday, March 23, 2003 at the Allegan County Medical Care Facility. Mr. Essenburgh was born Aug. 28, 1911 in Holland, the son of Jacob and Bertha (Smith) Essenburgh. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Allegan, for 20 years and had been employed by Dunn Manufacturing in Holland for 30 years, retiring in 1977. Surviving are his wife, Emma (Schafer); 2 daughters, Wanda Essenburgh and Judy (James) Hosta, both of Holland; 4 stepchildren, Barbara (Ned) Adams of Allegan, Allen Belden of California, Donna (Ken) Unger, and Norman (Jane) Belden, all of Allegan; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Russell (Frances) Essenburgh of Holland. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Arloua, 2 brothers, LeRoy and Cecil, and 1 sister, Margaret Boerman. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church. Pastor Ronald Kruse officiating. Interment Pilgrim Home Cemetery, Holland. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Parking Lot Fund.
