Harold Eugene Dunlap, 95 of Allegan, Michigan, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Meadow Woods Nursing Home in Bloomingdale, Michigan. Born January 21, 1927 in Oblong Village, Illinois, he was the son of the late James and Minnie (Hart) Dunlap. As a young man, and with World War II underway, Harold enlisted in the United States Air Force and served honorably until November of 1948. Once returning from the war, he settled into civilian life and went to work at a local paper mill. He also began his family and was blessed with four children, 3 daughters and a son. Harold was a kind and loving father and thought the world of his children. He enjoyed spending time with them and watching them grow. During his spare time, he enjoyed playing guitar in a band, fishing and deer hunting. After retiring from the James River Paper Mill, Harold's biggest enjoyment was going to the casino with his daughters and his wife. Life to Harold was about family, band (Country Music 4), living life to the fullest with a positive attitude and seldom complaining. Harold is survived by his wife, Coral (Hughes) Dunlap; his daughters, Kathy Dunlap, Jeannette (Andrew) Mastenbroook, and Kimberley (Timothy) Barber; his stepdaughters, Sandy (Jim) McCann, Patricia (Horace) Cuddington, Penny (Harry) Kniseley, Sue (Rick) Hopper, and Tammy Hughes; his brother, Quincy Dunlap; two grandchildren, Tara and Trevor; five great-grandchildren, Logan, Jocelynn, Jaden, Cameron and Waylon; and a host of nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Eugene Dunlap; and his five siblings, Evelyn, Lucille, Juanita, Beverly and Leverne. To celebrate Harold's life, there will be a Graveside Service with Military Honors on Friday, November 25, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Mallory Cemetery (913 M-40 South, Allegan, MI). Afterwards, the family wishes to invite you to a luncheon at the Otsego VFW Post 3030 to continue the celebration and shares stories and memories. They also wish to thank Otsego VFW Post 3030 and the active military for honoring Harold for his service to his country.
