of Bloomingdale, formerly of Allegan, died Sunday, November 7, 2010 in Kalamazoo. Mr. Person was born April 4, 1914, in Chicago, the son of Gustav and Charlotte (Anderson) Person. Bert graduated from Allegan High School in 1932, He started , owned and operated, 3 company's in Allegan, Industrial Electric Engineer, Com-Pak-Ett and Indelco Controls. He was a past president for Rotary, served on the Allegan City Council, Fire Dept., and Sheriff Dept. He also a member of a barbershop quartet. He attended the Allegan United Methodist Church. Surviving are his 3 children; Karl Person of Kalamazoo, Sondra and David Hallyburton of North Carolina, and Roger and Betty Person of Bloomingdale, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 1 brother, Randy Person of Allegan, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bert was preceded in death by his wife, Marion, son, Phillip and sister, Mary May. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday from 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Friday at the United Methodist Church at 11 am with a visitation 1 hour prior to service at church. Pastors Robert Stover and Joseph Spackman officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Memorials may be made to the Church.
