Obituary

died Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinsons disease since 1976. Grace was born December 4, 1932, in Allegan, the daughter of Andrew and Grace (Bowman) Jorgensen. She was a graduate of Allegan High School Class of 1951, and was their first homecoming queen. On July 16, 1955, Grace Jorgensen married Frank Haefner who is left to mourn her after 55 wonderful years of marriage. Grace was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and never missed an event that her grandchildren participated in. Surviving are her 4 daughters, Bronwen and Bill Grody, Lorie and Jerry Williams, Annette and Tom Stein, and Michelle and Melvin Vanklompenberg, 17 grandchildren, Becky and Jeremy Davis, Lisa and Michael Langlois, Tony and Audrey Miller, Martin and Abbie, Monica, Chase, Nichole, Amber, April and Jeremy Vanklompenberg, Luke and Kate, Kirk and Anne, Lydia, and Kelsey Williams, Ben, Katie and Kevin Stein, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren who she excitedly awaited their arrival in January, her brothers and sister, George Jorgensen, Tim and Arlene Jorgensen, Elaine and Ray Sigler, her sisters-in-law, Phyllis Jorgensen, and Augusta Brokus, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her children, Natalie Ruth and Frank Joseph Jr., her brother, Andrew Jorgensen and her sister, Julia McGlynn, brothers-in-law, Jim McGlynn and Stanley Brokus. Friends may meet with the family on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 6pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Watson. Rev. Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen, Celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery.
