Obituary

of Allegan, went to be with her Lord on Friday, August 26, 2011. Age 99 years. She was born on March 16, 1912, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John French. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Schroeder and her grandson, Paul H., DeLano. Surviving are two children and their families, a daughter, Charlene (Schroeder) DeLano and her husband, Herman of Shelby; a son, Jack Schroeder and his wife, Pat of Allegan; two grandchildren, Derek Schroeder and his wife, Nicole of Kalamazoo and Tracy Schroeder of Holland; three great-grandchildren, Brandon Schroeder and Victoria Schroeder both of Holland and Bridget DeLano of Lanolla, California. Gladys was a member of the Allegan United Methodist Church, a former member of the Methodist Women's Group, Allegan History Club, Allegan Hospital Service League earning the 500 hour pin, the Allegan Archery club, the Fennville Rubenstein Music Club, the Fennville Methodist Church, and the Michigan State Extension Group. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at the Allegan United Methodist Church. Pastor Robert Stover will officiate. A private graveside service will take place at a later date. In lieu of floweres, memorials may be made to Allegan County Hospice.
