of Wyoming, formerly of Hopkins, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. Gladys was born August 11, 1919, in Milford Twp., the daughter of Benjamin and Tillie (Aiken) Mamagona. She graduated from Wayland High School in 1980. Gladys was a member of the Salem United Methodist Indian Mission and a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. She was a driving force and very inspirational at the local, district and national level in Native American Indian Women in Leadership in the United Methodist Church. She had a undying devotion to her family and friends. Surviving are her 4 children; Robert and Liane Church of Wayland, William and Cheryl Church of Hopkins, Richard and Mary Church of Maryland, and Frances and Tom Pratt of Wyoming, 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lewis Church, and her granddaughter, Kara, an d 2 brothers, David and Mark. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, March 29, from 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, there will be a time of sharing and remembrance on Friday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 am at the Hopkins Chapel, Pastor Sandra VandenBrink will officiate. Interment Salem Twp. Cemetery.
