Obituary

Hopkins Twp., MI, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at her home. Mrs. Hitchcock was born June 20, 1934 in Hastings, MI, the daughter of Walter B. and Myrtie Bell (Diamond) Cole. She had worked as a nurse's aide for 18 years at the Allegan Co. Medical Care Facility, retiring in 1997. Surviving are her husband, Floyd; 6 children, Karen and Sam Fifelski of Hopkins, Susan Smith and Bill Stedman of Pullman, Robin and Nick van Frankenhuyzen of Bath, Sandy and Carl Stanford of Lowell, Teresa Smith of Gowen and Nicole and Mike Weddington of Paw Paw; 4 stepchildren, Teresa and Bob Wendt of California, Jeffrey and Lynn Hitchcock of Kentwood, Tammy and Steve Button of Coopersville and Gwyn Harnish and John Meisenbach of Wayland; 23 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Elnora and Ken Beckwith of Hastings and Betty Carey of Woodland. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. Chaplain Cindy Veldheer-DeYoung officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
