Shelbyville, MI, died Monday, September 10, 2007 at his home. Mr. Oisten was born April 1, 1933 in Lebanon, IN, the son of Charles and Minnie Pearl (Jenkins) Oisten. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed going to and working the flea markets in local areas including Reit's Flea Market in Paw Paw. Surviving are 2 children, Gerald Jr. of Shelbyville and Cindy and Gary Flora of Pullman; 3 grandchildren, Zachary, Zeboriah and Nicole; 2 great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Kaleb; 3 brothers, Chester and Marilyn Oisten of Allegan, Donald and Dorothy Oisten of Zeeland, David and Donna Oisten of Allegan; 3 sisters, Violet and Art Stienman and Veda Miller, all of Allegan, and Maxine and Bud Shipman of Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, and son, Charles. Friends may meet the family from 12 noon Friday until time of service at 2 p.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
