Allegan, MI, formerly of Indianapolis, IN, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Harbors Health Facility in Douglas, MI. Mrs. Wallace was born October 3, 1927 in Stanley, WI, the daughter of Ira and Gladys (Loughridge) Shaner. She had lived most of her married life in Indianapolis, IN with her husband, Rev. Randy Wallace, who preceded her in death in June 2005. They had served and were active in many churches in the Indianapolis area. She had been a member of the O.E.S. #384 in Lawrence, IN. She played the piano and sang solos for many churches and organizations and enjoyed reading and watching birds and wildlife. Due to health reasons, Mrs. Wallace moved to the Allegan area to be cared for by her nieces, Mary and Jane Shaner of Allegan, Claudia (John) Watson of Holland and Lori Shaner of Holland; also surviving are 2 sisters, Virginia DeFields of California and Nancy (Harry) Bante of Alabama. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Fred and Joseph Shaner and 2 sisters, Eleanor Follmer and Alta Marie Hill. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. Pastor Robert Stover officiating. Interment Washington Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Audubon Society.
