of Allegan, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mr. Thompson was born November 8, 1933, in Kalamazoo, the son of Oscar and Donna (Armstrong) Thompson. George worked and lived at the Allegan County Farm for over 15 years. In 1974 he went to work for the Allegan County Road Commission, and retired in 1991. Surviving are 3 sisters, Virginia Lindsey of Kalamazoo, Marlene Craven of Parchment and Mary Lou Trimm of Allegan; 2 sisters-in-law, Shirley Thompson of Delton and Lila Thompson of Allegan; 1 uncle, Bob and Donna Armstrong of Allegan; 2 aunts, Alice Armstrong of Allegan and Marilyn Armstrong of CA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Ernest and Lloyd, and sister, Violet. Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Mallory Cemetery, Trowbridge Twp. Pastor G. Patrick White from Christ Community Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
