View Photo Tribute George P. Eichinger, Allegan, died Thursday, June 10, 2004 at the Metron Nursing Home in Allegan. Mr. Eichinger was born December 21, 1914 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Paul & Katherina (Friedrich) Eichinger. George attended Cass Tech .In 1932 and 1933 he worked for the CCC, planting trees in the Upper Peninsula, after 2 years planting trees he moved back to Detroit and went to work for the Stroh Brewery for 8 years. On August 24, 1940 George married Myrtle Moline at Peace Lutheran Church in Detroit. From 1942 until his retirement in 1974 as a Battalion Chief, George was a Fireman for the City of Detroit. George & Myrtle moved to Allegan in 1979, and have been active members of Immanuel Lutheran Church ever since. Surviving are his wife, Myrtle, 2 sons, Dennis Eichinger of CO., and Ron & Diane Eichinger of Allegan, 4 grandchildren; Erich & his fiancee Janet of FL, Jeffrey & Amy Eichinger of TX, Andrew & Laura Eichinger of CO and Janna & Chad Dame of Allegan, 10 great grandchildren, Kurtis, Ethan, Travis, Evan, Eriq, Gabbie, Ellie, Alisa, Maddie and Makenna. The Family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-5 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11 am at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Allegan. Pastor Dean Beckwith will officiate. Interment will take place in Hudson Corners Cemetery, Allegan Twp. Memorials may be made to the Church Building Fund.
