of Allegan, died Friday, December 26, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family. George was born July 13, 1931, in Comstock, the son of John and Engeltje (DeVries) DeHaan. He worked for over 25 years in Allegan, at Rockwell. He loved to work with his hands, woodworking and making arts and crafts were his hobbies. He also loved to be outdoors hunting and fishing, and traveling into northern Michigan. Surviving are his 6 children: Rodney and Janis DeHaan, Yvonne and Dave Reimink, Tim and Sue DeHaan, Mike DeHaan and Sue Sebright, Marc DeHaan and Jan Rice, Kathy and Scott Groenewoud; her daughter-in-law Michele DeHaan; 20 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 3 great great granddaughters; his companion for many years: Eunice Oisten; his brother: Harold and Leona DeHaan; his sister: Angeline and Jerry DeBoer; sister in law: Bernice DeHaan; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife: Geraldine; son: Randy; granddaughter: Denise; 3 brothers: John, Egbert, Ralph; sister: Johanna. Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015, at 11 am, at Millgrove Cemetery, Valley Twp.
