Aged 72, of Hopkins, MI, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2006 at the Laurels of Sandy Creek, Wayland. Mr. Sallows was born February 5, 1934 in Medina Twp., MI, the son of Kimble and Florence (Solmonson) Sallows. He had been employed with Remex Corp. in Grand Rapids for 15 years, Hopkins Elementary for 3 years and Metaloy Foundry in Hudson for several years. He was a member of the Hopkins United Methodist Church. He always enjoyed farming. He moved to Allegan County in 1977 and attended State Tech. in Plainwell, where he met and married Nancy Ballard, whom he loved very much. "He was the perfect husband and spoiled me rotten!" They were married 27 years; also surviving are 6 children from a previous marriage; several grandchildren; and a half-sister, Chris; 3 brothers-in-law, Mike, Robert, and Jim; mother-in-law, Gwen Ballard; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Glen and Gerri. A special thanks to the Laurels of Sandy Creek nurses and staff in Wayland for all the love and care he received during the past two years. Also thanks to Hospice, and friends and family who helped Nancy when she needed it.
