Obituary

Gary Otis Replogle, born on February 15, 1944, in Kalamazoo, MI, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on January 30, 2024, in Allegan, MI. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, Gary's warmth and passion for life left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Gary honorably served his country for two years in the Army as a USATC. He later dedicated many years of hard work in production at a local factory, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly demeanor. His colleagues will recall his willingness to lend a hand and his ever-present smile.

Music was one of Gary's greatest passions, and he found joy in playing the bass guitar with his country music band, "The Stone Mountain Band." His love for singing and music was infectious, and he brought life to many gatherings with his singing. Gary met his wife 50 years ago while playing music with the band in Allegan at the Stables. Gary and Sue were married for 44 years.

Gary also had a profound love for animals, which was evident in his care for the birds and fish he raised. An outdoorsman at heart, Gary relished the time spent feeding his fish in the pond on the property and attending swap meets, where he would often share stories and laughter with friends and strangers alike. His friendly and approachable nature made him a well-known figure in these communities.

Gary's life was characterized by his loving nature, his passion for his interests, and his friendly approach to all. He was the kind of person who could strike up a conversation with anyone, calling everyone he met Kiddo, and made them feel like an old friend. His legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and the simple joy of living each day to the fullest.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gladys (Bagley) Replogle, his brother Gordon Replogle, his grandchild Taylor Scofield, brothers-in-law, David and Gary Siebert and Tom Fargo, his mother and father in-law Mary and Jim Morris. His memory will be treasured and kept alive by his loving wife of many years, Susan (Siebert) Replogle; his children, Brian Replogle and Carrie (Al Sharron) Replogle-Sharron; his cherished grandchildren, Brian (Danielle) Replogle, Brittany Replogle, Katelyn (Nate) Stanfill, Jordan Howard, Quincy Howard; his cherished great-grandchildren, Arie, Jayce, Isla and several nieces and nephews.
