PEPE, Gary V. Aged 55, of Allegan, MI, formerly of Holland, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at his home. Mr. Pepe was born July 14, 1950 in Newark, NJ, the son of James and Alice Pepe. He had been employed as a social worker with Allegan Co. Mental Health, and previously, with Child and Family Services of Western Michigan. He was a 1993 graduate of Hope College, a humanitarian, intellectual, political activist and lover of life, friends, and family. Surviving are his mother, Alice Pepe of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ; 1 brother, Jim Pepe of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ; 1 sister and her husband, Christine and Paul Valestin of Hazlet, NJ; former wife, Ginny Pepe Cooper of Fennville; dear friends, Eddie Parach, Vicki Rosenberg and their children, Gabriel, Aaron, and Ilana of Saugatuck; many other close friends. Memorial services will be held Sunday, May 8, at 2 p.m. at the Saugatuck Women's Club, 303 Butler St. Gary was past president and dedicated member of the Alliance for Cultural and Ethnic Harmony of Holland, Box 3007, Holland, MI 49422-3007, to which memorial contributions would be appreciated.
