Obituary

Gary G. Kisinger, 72, of Cheshire Township, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at his home. Mr. Kisinger, referred to by many as "Big Gar" or "Sir," was born in Plainwell, Michigan on May 16, 1943, the son of the late Glenn and Bertha (Hoskins) Kisinger. He was a Plainwell High School 1961 graduate. After high school, Gary worked several years at Eaton Manufacturing prior to owning and operating the Plainwell Ambulance service. Gary spent the last 25 years of his working life as an over-the-road freight truck driver. For the past 10 years he enjoyed living on Swan Lake surrounded by nature. He loved watching sports, most of all College Basketball and Nascar. He loved animals, country living, and he especially loved his family and his cat, Sabrina. He enjoyed his trips to Swan Lake Store and going for rides around his old stomping grounds. Gary was an easy going and positive person. When diagnosed with Alzheimer's he said, "well, this will be an interesting adventure." Gary is survived by his children: Glenda Kae Fletcher, Theresa Kisinger-DeLavern and Mark DeLavern, Mary Kisinger, and Brian Kisinger. His grandchildren: Trevor, Zachary, and Alicia. His brother, Larry Kisinger; his sister, Allene Guidebeck; and sister-in-law, Patricia Kisinger; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Phillip and Dean and his sister, MaryLou Cook. A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at Cheshire Hills Golf Course on Saturday, March 26th from 1-4 pm.
