of Hopkins, formerly of Jackson, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 at his home, with his wife by his side. Mr. Harris was born August 6, 1951, in Petoskey, the son of Lloyd and Muriel (Follette) Harris. On April 19, 1975, Gary married Deborah Fettig at the Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, in Alanson. They shared 35 years together, they spent most of those years working side by side, owning a trucking company, a bait shop, and later team driving for Fed Ex. Gary was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and being home on his tractor. Surviving are his loving wife, Deborah, 3 children; Tracy and Brad Beaver of OK, Gary and Jill Harris of Allegan, and Cleyo and Stephanie Harris of Canton, 6 grandchildren; Talen, Blake, Abigail, Xavier, Maria and Olivia, 1 great grandson, Jaeger, 3 brothers; Al and Linda, Jon and Kathy, and Mike and Jenny, his sister, Kate and Phil Daniels, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, March 23 from 5-7 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 5 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday at 11am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Rev Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen , Celebrant. Interment Church Cemetery, Allegan.
