Gary Robert Comstock, Sr., 81, of Allegan, MI passed away Monday, October 5, 2020 at his home with his family at his side. Born December 30, 1938 in Grand Haven, he was the son of the late Robert Ernest and Virginia (Knuppenburg) Comstock and was the husband of Donna Louise (Bush) Comstock. Gary had been a truck driver most of his life. He drove both locally and cross country and, later, delivering RV's. At one point, Gary had also worked as a projectionist in a movie theater. He loved being outdoors fishing, camping and gardening and was an avid deer hunter. Above all else, Gary loved his family, and he was happiest when he was with them. In addition to his wife of forty years, Donna, he is survived by his children, Cheryl (Robert) Thomson, Gina (Tim) Janke, Tammie Wester, Gary Comstock, Jr., Trixie (Keith) Cogar and Tonia (Don) Lamb; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and his best bud, Opal the English Lab. Along with his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brothers, Glen Burgess and Calvin Comstock. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. No service is planned. Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
