Fredric Douglas
Schubert Jr.
May 18, 1939 – May 3, 2026
Fredric Robert Schubert Jr., age 86, of Allegan, Michigan, passed away on May 3, 2026. He was born on May 18, 1939, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Fredric Sr. and Lois Schubert. He lived a life marked by devotion to family, hard work, and a warm presence that touched many in his community.
Fredric was the beloved husband of Candice (Brucker) Schubert, with whom he shared more than 57 years of marriage. Their life together was built on love, loyalty, and a deep partnership that stood as an example to all who knew them. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, and he will be remembered for the steady kindness and strength he brought to those around him.
He was preceded in death by his children Terry Clarke and Fredric Schubert III. And by his siblings Lois Moore, Elizabeth O'Brien, Tom Schubert, Joe Schubert, Christine Lehman, and Sandra Scott. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.
Surviving are his wife, Candice Schubert; his children Tanya (Kelly) Singleton, Tina (Tim) Noble, and Patrick Schubert; his siblings Susan Creech, Priscilla Schubert, and Kevin Schubert. He also leaves behind many grandchildren, including Angel and Michael Gorski; Jonathon, Chance, and Preston Jackson; Owen Singleton; Tabitha, Zachary, and Damien Schubert; and Paige Landeros, Mick Noble, and Addison Schubert. His great-grandchildren, Naomi Noble, Aliyah Landeros, and Alijah Landeros, brought him great joy and pride.
Fredric was a devoted family man who took special care in helping raise his grandson Addison. One of the most meaningful routines in his life was walking Addison every day to North Ward Elementary School, a simple act that reflected his love, dependability, and commitment to family. Those daily walks were more than a task. They were a quiet expression of the bond he shared with his grandson and a lasting memory for his family.
He was also a very successful entrepreneur and Rite Bite-Schubert Lures was his most proud business, where his hard work and determination were evident to all who knew him. Fredric and his wife Candice also volunteered 9+ years at the Congregational Kitchen. Fredric approached life with a strong work ethic and a practical spirit, and he earned the respect of many through his business and his character. He was well known in the community and valued for the way he carried himself with honesty and sincerity.
In his free time, Fredric loved hunting and fishing, pastimes that gave him peace and enjoyment throughout his life. He appreciated the outdoors and found happiness in the simple, familiar things that brought him closer to nature and to the people he loved. His family was always at the center of his world, and he treasured the time he spent with them.
Fredric Robert Schubert will be remembered as a loving man whose life was defined by devotion, generosity, and enduring family ties.
We will be having a graveside service in the coming weeks at Oakwood Cemetery, Date and time will be announced soon.
