age 78, died in his sleep Monday, May 20, 2013 at his home in Allegan. From the age of 18 to 71 Rick worked as a Kalamazoo Gazette photographer; his photos won many awards and brought pleasure to his family and friends. He was born June 30, 1934 and grew up on a farm in Richland, the son of the late Harold and Clarion Campbell. He was preceded in death also by his birth mother, Marcella Loesser Campbell. He is survived by wife Leslie (Hall), their daughter Erin (Bill Brooks) and son Brennen (Leah Baker); also by ex-wife Susanna (Herlihy) and their five children: Mike (Lee Ann Johnson) Bonnie (Chris Magson), Thomas, Sheila (Matthew Schwartz), George (Darcy). His grandchildren are Campbell Brooks and Kellee, Krystal, Kayla, Matthew, and Kennedy Campbell. Great grandchildren are Julianna, Lexi, Braydon, Magnolia. He is survived by four brothers: Donald (Dawn), Phil (Sandy), Robert (Nancy), Jim (Linda), as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews. He served in the U.S. Air Force as Airman First Class 1956-1960 in Donaldson, South Carolina and Wiesbaden, Germany. He loved to eat, loved to socialize, and to camp and fish. He was famous for his beer-butt chicken and proved himself a great help on all kinds of home improvement projects. He attended Christ Community Church in Allegan, where a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on June 15, 2013 followed by an open house. Arrangements are being made by Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
