Obituary

of Gobles, died Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Ely Manor Nursing Home, where he received excellent care. Franklin was born October 11, 1934, in Trowbridge Twp., the son of Wayne and Maude (Hettinger) Kelly. He graduated from Allegan High School in 1953. He worked several jobs during his life, Reds Auto Parts, Hamilton Farm Bureau, Rex Hayes, Allegan County Technical and Educational Center, and he loved to farm. Franklin also was very involved in the Allegan County Fair, as well as the 4-H program. Surviving are his wife, Delores, of 58 years, 3 children: Kevin and Terri Kelly, Kenn Kelly, Karen and Kent Colborn, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 brother-in-law, Don and Carolyn Miner, 1 sister-in-law, Sharon Kelly, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger, and his sister, Virginia and Jerry Petroshus. Friends may meet with the family on Friday, January 24, 2014, from 6-8 pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 am at the Merson Church. Private interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan. Memorials may be made to the Wings of Hope Hospice, 530 Linn St., Allegan, MI 49010, or the 4-H Camp Kidwell, 39000 1st St., Bloomingdale, MI 49026.
