Frank G. Merrill, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Allegan, died Thursday, March 1, 2007 . Mr. Merrill was born June 1, 1922 in Chicago, IL, the son of Joseph & Edyth (Ramler) Merrill. Frank was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Allegan for many years. He graduated from Allegan High School in 1940, and then graduated from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Class of 1947. In 1942 Frank enlisted into the United States Navy and spent the next 4 years serving his country. Frank worked for over 30 years with the Insurance Services Office as a Fire Insurance Rating Engineer. Surviving are his son, Mark & Debra Merrill of Lansing, 2 grandchildren, Brian & Emily, 2 brothers, Edward & Annamae Merrill and Daniel Merrill all of Allegan, 1 sister in law & brother in law, Jean & Doug Prestage of Allegan, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth (Gorden), his sister, Ethel Cooley and his brother, Joseph. Friends may meet with the family on Monday (03-05-07) from 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 pm.
