Obituary

TAYLOR, Frances V. Aged 72 of Newaygo, formerly of Allegan, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003 at Gerber Memorial Hospital in Fremont. Mrs. Taylor was born Oct. 18, 1931 in Fennville, the daughter of Onofrio and Maria (Frisina) Marfia. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Allegan and had served as organist for many years. She had been the director of the Sweet Adalines. She had taught piano for 40 years and had been employed by the D.N.R. for 18 years, retiring in 1981. Surviving are her husband, Ivan; 8 children and their spouses, Tom and Candi Taylor of Roscommon, Bob and Pam Taylor of Six Lakes, Mary and Bob Somma of Goodell, Karen Spika of Colorado, Doug and Dynnette Taylor of Virginia, Gary and Diana Taylor of Howell, Margaret and Ron Priestley of Whitehall and Sara and Troy Lindley of Newaygo; 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 brothers and their wives, Tony and Louise Marfia of Portage and Sam and Ginny Marfia of Oregon; 1 sister, Josephine Stuenkel of Allegan; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven, grandson, Roger, 3 brothers, Ben, Frank and Joe, 2 sisters, Maryann and Carmela, and son-in-law, Mike. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, Jan.24, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Church, Allegan. Rev. Fr. Jerome M. Heyman, O.S.A., Celebrant. Interment Gerrish Twp. Cemetery, Roscommon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc. Arrangements by the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
