Obituary

Allegan, MI,died Friday, March 24, 2006 at Metron of Allegan. Mrs. Stapleton was born July 9, 1920 in Port Hope, Michigan, the daughter of George and Grace (Smith) Richardson. She was a life-long resident of Allegan. She graduated from Allegan High School in 1938, and was a teacher's aide at Pine Trails for more than 10 years. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Surviving are 4 children, Richard Stapleton of Midland, Mary Margaret and Bob Morris of Kalamazoo, Ned and Estrella Stapleton of Virginia and Alisa and Ed Bazan of Allegan; 8 grandchildren, Tanya, Todd, Lauren, Sarah, Hannah, Andrea, Jordan-Patrick and Gabriela; 3 brothers, Gerald and Grace Ann Richardson of Parchment, Dale Richardson of Florida and James Richardson of Georgia; 1 sister, Peggy and Loren Goff of Florida; several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, daughter, Patricia Topolka and 2 brothers and 1 sister. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where a scripture service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery, Allegan. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Fund.
