age 101, a long-time resident of Allegan, died Sunday, July 5, 2009 in Portage. Mrs. Mutchler was born February 16, 1908 in Bristol, TN, the daughter of Mark and Corinthia (Crowell) Withrow. She moved to Allegan in 1919 and was a 1928 graduate of Allegan High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Allegan. In 1928, she married Howard Haight and from this union two daughters, Betty and Peggy, were born. In 1948, she married Orlo Mutchler, who died in 1991. Also preceding her in death were her parents, her daughter, Betty (Haight) Barrie, step-daughter, Helen Mutchler, and 2 sisters, Helen Miner and Dorothy Larson. Surviving are her daughter, Peggy and Robert Norcross of Portage; son-in-law, Richard Barrie of St. Joseph; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 nephews and 1 niece. At her request, cremation has taken place and private family graveside services will be held at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery, Allegan.
