View Photo Tribute Florence Beekman, 88 of Allegan, died Friday, May 21, 2004 at the Allegan County Medical Care Facility. Mrs. Beekman was born September 18, 1915 in Hudsonville, MI the daughter of Henry and Jessie (Mollema) VanderMeulen. She was a graduate of Zeeland High School, Class of 1933. She retired from Town & Country Grocery after 32 years and was a member of the Allegan Lady Elks. She enjoyed her family and cooking and baking for them. Surviving are 2 children and their spouses, Barbara & Tom Roxbury of Hopkins; Harry "Bud" & Lana Beekman, Jr. of Henderson, NV; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; 1 brother, Kenneth VanderMeulen of Paw Paw; 2 sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; 1 granddaughter, Kristi; and 3 brothers, Steven, Albert, and Marvin VanderMeulen. The visitation and funeral service will be private. Interment will take place in Poplar Hill Cemetery, Monterey Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Dollars for Scholars or the American Diabetes Association.
