Obituary

Allegan, MI. Evelyn "Eve" went to be with her Lord, Monday, April 30, 2007, at home with her family, after living a full life for 91 years. Evelyn was born August 9, 1915 in Charlotte, MI, and was raised by her mother, Alice Davis, in Battle Creek. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High in 1934 and took extra courses in math and drawing. She worked in several engineering departments and became a successful designer/draftsman. She worked on one of the early space rockets for Chrysler. She also worked in Battle Creek at Clark Equipment for 5 years and for Kellogg's for several years. She met her husband of 46 years, Homer L., while they both worked on the design for mechanical presses at the Bliss Co. in Hastings. She was a proud member of Mensa. She loved working in her yard and garden and grew many beautiful house plants. In 1983, she founded the Adopt A Pet Rescue Program in Allegan and devoted much of her later years to the rescue, care and placement of pets - mainly cats and dogs, but also many other types of pets. She is survived by her husband, Homer L.; daughter, Linda L. Anthony of Allegan; brother, Richard C. (Barbara) Davis of Washington D.C.; cousin, Shirley Holt of Northville, MI; 2 grandsons, Monty L. (Pam) Anthony of Kalamazoo and Marc J. Anthony of Hickory Corners; 6 great grandchildren. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice or the animal rescue organization of your choice. Arrangements by the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
