of Hopkins, died Monday, May 11, 2015, at the Brairwood Assisted Living in Allegan. Mrs. Brenner was born August 9, 1922, in Sparta, the daughter of Conrad and Clara Schwartz. Evelyn graduated from Hopkins High School, Class of 1940. She was a life member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hopkins, where she had played the organ for over 25 years. She was involved in the MSU extension office and 4-H, and worked many voter polls in Monterey Twp. She was a farmer's wife, she loved to garden, can the produce, and helped with the many chores, she also knitted over 800 baby hats. Surviving are her husband: Chet; 3 children: Nancy Cyrus and her fiancAC.e, John West, Janet Dell, Thomas and Kathy Brenner; 4 grandchildren, Jamie Sue, April, Lee, and Nate; 2 great grandchildren; her brother: Elwood Schwartz; 2 sisters-in-law; Glenda Schwartz and Ardith Brenner; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her 2 brothers: Howard and Harlow. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, from 6-8 pm, at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 am, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hopkins. Interment in the Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church or the Hospice of Holland.
