aged 82, of Hopkins, MI, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 21, 2009, with her family by her side. Evelyn was born December 9, 1926 and raised in Wayland, MI. She was one of six children of Joseph and Kate Baweja. Evelyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, George. She was an active member of the St. Stanislaus Altar Rosary Society and the Our Lady Queen of Heaven Circle. She is survived by her children, George and Colleen Schwartz, Bernard and Kathy Schwartz, Denise Pluta, Mark and Laurie Schwartz, and Michael and Sandy Schwartz; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Sophie Baweja and Lavon Baweja and 2 brothers-in-law, Ray Weller and Wilbur Bailey; several nieces and nephews and several special friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary, Helen and Stella and twin brothers, Bill and Joe. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Hilliards. Rev. Fr. Robert Johansen, Celebrant. Interment in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus School, Hopkins Athletic Booster Club, or Faith Hospice.
