Allegan, MI, died Thursday, October 5, 2006 at the Allegan General Hospital. Mrs. Haist was born November 22, 1923 in Allegan, the daughter of Edward and Leona (Brown) Enders. She was a graduate of Allegan High School, class of 1941 and had been a member of Christ Community Church, Allegan. She and her husband, Leslie, had owned and operated Ruby's Restaurant in Allegan for 8 years, and continued to stay involved with the daily operations for many years. Surviving are 6 children, Edward Haist of Arizona, Joyce and Bob Szabo, Judy Stewart, Connie and Al Hulst, Luann and Gary Hart, and Matthew Haist, all of Allegan; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Lorraine Paddock and 1 sister-in-law, Bernice Enders, both of Allegan; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie, grandson, Jeffrey Haist, sister, Ruth Hillsburg, brother, Howard Enders, and sister-in-law, Viola Johnson. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. A Resurrection Celebration Service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Christ Community Church.
