Allegan, MI died Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in Allegan. She was born March 15, 1920 in Allegan to Tom and Rosie (Speiser) Jones. A lifelong Allegan resident, Ethel married Carl Tuffelmire on January 27, 1939. Together they owned and operated the True Value Hardware for over 40 years and worked together on their farm. Carl preceded her in death on August 4, 2002. Ethel was a very loving mom and grandmother. She will be remembered by many for sharing her love of baking pies and doughnuts. She was a longtime member of Chicora Country Chapel and a former member of the Otsego Moose Lodge. Surviving are her four children; Tom and Jan Tuffelmire, Al and Loranna Tuffelmire, Linda and Jim Muenzer and Dale and Vicki Tuffelmire all of Allegan; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, George and Gloria Jones, Jim and Pat Jones, Don and Sophia Jones and Rose and Bob Waychoff all of Allegan; a brother-in-law, Roy Johnson of Kalamazoo and a sister-in-law Jessie Page of Allegan; two aunts, Joyce Schultz of Monroe and Joanne and Paul Casarez of Woodland; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a close family friend, Betty Barber. She was preceded in death by sisters Dottie Ochampaugh and Mary Johnson and a grandson, Macker Jackson. Friends may meet with the family from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Pastor Herb Curry officiating. Interment Lindsley Cemetery, Cheshire Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to Chicora Country Chapel or Camp Kidwell.
