McFadyen, Ethel N., of Allegan, formerly of Grand Haven, died Thursday, June 12, 2003 at her home. Mrs. McFadyen was born December 27, 1925 in Gaylord, MI, the daughter of Burdette & Myrtle (Graves) Payne. She was a member of the Monterey Center United Methodist Church. Ethel worked out of her home for over 30 years as an upholsterer. Surviving are her children, Margaret Breeze, CO, Bobbie & Jim Maddox, WY, Alex McFadyen & Cathy Panczyk, Battle Creek, Robert J. & Ernistine McFadyen II, Muskegon, Dawn & George Hernandez, WY, George & Sandy McFadyen, Fruitport, Letty Wheeler, Allegan, and Krista & Scott Shumake, Grand Haven her granddaughter whom she adopted, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Velda Nevel, Zeeland and Burnadette & Eugene Knight, Grandville. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, 1 great grandson, Jake, 1 brother, Tom, 3 sisters, Wylon, Myrtle and Dora Lee. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 3 pm at the Monterey Center United Methodist Church. Pastor Kenneth Reeves and Comer Skinner will officiate. Memorial donations may be given to the Church or the Cancer Society. Arrangments by the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
