Emily May Smith, 63, formerly of Hopkins, MI passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at The Lodge at Taylor in Taylor, MI. Born July 4, 1957 in Grand Rapids, she was the daughter of the late Harold W. and Evelyn (Root) Smith. Emily had attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for more than forty years. She was an incredibly gifted artist who loved drawing and crocheting. She created beautiful pieces of clothing and blankets for family and friends. Emily had a passion for dancing, writing and everything art. She especially loved singing to her daughter Rachel, regardless of time or place. She is survived by her children, Rachel Campisi and Devin Campisi; siblings, Darlene DeBres, Kevin Smith, Terry (Sue) Smith, Becky (Dennis) Fate and Nancy Smith; and her grandchildren, Areyana Sweeter, Caisey Sweeter and Avalon Sweeter. Along with her parents, Emily was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Smith and Randal Smith. A graveside funeral service will take place at Miner Cemetery, Watson Township on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 12:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
