Monterey Twp., MI, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Monday, September 22, 2008. Mrs. Krumm was born November 3, 1917 in Wheaton, KS, the oldest daughter of Fred and Freda (Graf) Schwant. She grew up in South Dakota and had served as an Army flight nurse during WWII. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hopkins and had been employed at the Allegan Co. Medical Care Facility for 25 years. She loved to walk, often helped on the family farm, and volunteered for Wings of Hope Hospice. Surviving are 3 children, Melvin and Cindy Krumm, and Fred Krumm, all of Allegan, and Bette and Keith Newell of Reed City; 5 grandchildren, Timothy and Kristy Newell, Caroline and Brian Diaz, Emily and Blair Whiteman, Margaret Krumm, and Caleb Krumm; 4 great-grandchildren, Parker, Alaina, Grant, and Braden; 1 brother, C. Dale Schwant of Florida; 1 niece and 2 nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, in 1986, brother, Willard, and sister, Leona. Friends may meet with the family from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Pastor Donald W. Seelhoff officiating. Interment Poplar Hill Cemetery, Monterey Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Wings of Hope Hospice.
